What makes a good restaurant logo
People see a food logo in many places before they taste anything: on the signboard from across the road, on a Foodpanda or Facebook page as a small round picture, on boxes, bags and cups, and on the menu. A good restaurant logo works in all of them. It is easy to read from a distance, still clear when it is very small, and prints well in one colour on a paper bag or a stamp.
Colour matters a lot for food. Warm colours such as red, orange and yellow feel hungry and lively and are common for fast food, biryani and street food. Green, brown and cream feel fresh, healthy or homemade and suit cafés, bakeries and organic food. Black with gold often feels premium. You don't have to follow these rules, but tell designers the feeling you want customers to have.
Many restaurants in Bangladesh use their name in both Bangla and English. Say in your brief which one should be bigger, or whether you want only one. A Bangla wordmark with a hand-drawn feel can make a local food brand stand out, while a short English name is easier on delivery apps.
What to write in your brief
- Your restaurant's name exactly as it should appear, in Bangla, English or both
- What you serve: biryani, fast food, Chinese, cakes, tea, home-cooked meals and so on
- Who your customers are: students, families, office workers, tourists
- The feeling you want: cheap and cheerful, family, modern, premium, traditional
- Colours you like or don't like, and any colours already on your shop or packaging
- Where the logo will be used: signboard, delivery apps, boxes, cups, uniforms, Facebook
- Two or three logos you like (from any business), and what you like about them

Questions about restaurant logos
How much does a restaurant logo cost on logocontest.bd?
You choose the prize. A contest starts from ৳3,750 in total (৳3,000 prize plus the 25% service fee). A bigger prize and a clear brief usually bring more designers, but we can't promise a number of designs. See the logo design price page for every package.
Will the logo work on Foodpanda and Facebook?
Ask for it in your brief. Say that the logo must be clear as a small round picture and on a square app icon. When you pick the winner you get PNG and JPG files for the apps, and AI, EPS, SVG and PDF files for printing signboards, boxes and cups.
Can I get my logo in Bangla?
Yes. Write in your brief that you want a Bangla wordmark, an English one, or both. Designers across Bangladesh work with Bangla lettering, and you can ask the winner for changes to the final files before you approve them.
Can I also get a menu or packaging design?
This contest is for the logo. Besides logos, the site can run contests for other designs, such as business cards. With your final logo files (AI, EPS, SVG), any designer or printer can use the logo on your menu and packaging.
How do I know the logo isn't copied?
Before you pick a winner, the free AI Logo Checker on every logo contest can search online for logos that look very similar. It is an AI research report, not a legal guarantee. If the winning design is proven to be copied, you can pick another design.
