What makes a good IT company logo

A tech logo lives mostly on screens, and often very small: as a favicon in a browser tab, an app icon on a phone, a profile picture on LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube, in the corner of a presentation and in an email signature. It also appears on the office signboard, business cards, T-shirts and stickers at events. A good IT logo works at all of these sizes. Test it at the size of a favicon: if the mark becomes a blur, it is too detailed.

Many tech brands use a simple mark next to the name, such as a letter, a shape or a symbol, so the mark alone can be the app icon or favicon. Ask designers for a full logo and a square icon version. Blue is very common in IT because it feels reliable, which also makes it hard to stand out with. Purple, green, orange or a strong black and white can help you look different. Also check that the logo works on a dark background, because many websites and apps have a dark mode.

Most IT companies in Bangladesh use an English name, because they work with clients abroad or sell online. If your customers are local, a Bangla tagline or a Bangla version of the name can feel closer to them. Say in your brief which version you need. A short, easy-to-spell name is easier to fit on an app icon and to remember as a domain.
